DESCRIPTION:
Color loss and general damage of the paint film on fresh masonry.
CAUSES:
- The paint that was applied to the new masonry that did not mature (30 days); the alkalinity of the masonry remains so high that it can attack the integrity of the paint
SOLUTION:
Alkalinity in masonry affects the adhesion of some paints and attacks pigments. Allow the masonry surfaces to harden for at least 30 days before repainting. Apply wall solution or primer followed by the application of the paint.
